2 GRANTS FOR ACCOMMODATION AND PARTICIPATION AT LA CASA DE VELÁZQUEZ, MADRID

Each grant shall be for a total of €3,000 to cover travel expenses, food, etc.

La Casa de Velázquez provides accommodation in Madrid, in addition to the use of its studios and participation in its programme of activities.

A proposal for an art project must be submitted to be carried out at La Casa de Velázquez within a maximum of 3 months.

1 GRANT FOR ACCOMMODATION AND PARTICIPATION AT THE SLADE SCHOOL OF FINE ART, UNIVERSITY COLLEGE, LONDON

A grant for a total of €3,000 to cover travel expenses, accommodation, etc. in London.

The Slade School of Fine Art provides the use of studio space for a maximum of one month and agreed access to the university’s print workshops and other academic activities programmed during the academic year.

ENTRY RULES

DOCUMENTATION
To take part in this edition, the completion of the online entry form on the Foundation’s website, www.miromallorca.com, is absolutely mandatory, and the following documents must be uploaded and sent with it:

  • The application form and express acceptance of this year’s entry rules, using the duly completed online form.
  • A photocopy of the applicant’s identity card, passport or other national identity document.
  • The curriculum vitae of the applicant. Supporting evidence may be requested.
  • A proposal or report outlining the reasons for the chosen option and preferred dates, together with a dossier explaining the intended project with a maximum of 10 photographs of the applicant’s artwork.
  • This document should contain a maximum of 20 pages.
  • A synopsis of a maximum of 10 lines.
  • The applicants must send this documentation written in Catalan, Spanish or English.

All the required documents must be submitted within the entry deadline, otherwise the applicant will automatically be excluded from this edition.

If applications are submitted with missing documents, they will only be admitted provided that this is rectified within the entry deadline.

The applicants may apply for more than one grant. In such an event, they must submit the full documentation for each grant in a separate envelope.

DEADLINE FOR APPLICATIONS
The deadline for the submission of all entries is the 30th of July 2021.

Once the submitted entry has been registered, the entrant will be sent its registration number by e-mail.

JURY
Fundació Miró Mallorca shall appoint a competent jury to select and award the announced grants. Their decision shall be published on the Foundation’s website, www.miromallorca.com.

The jury reserves the right to declare this call for grants null and void. The jury’s members have full capacity and authority to interpret these entry rules.

Only the winning entrants will be informed by e-mail of the jury’s decision, and the results shall be published on the Foundation’s website and in other means of communication.

The decision shall be announced in October to mark Pilar Juncosa’s saint’s day and it shall not be open to appeal.

PAYMENTS
50% of the grant will be paid when it is awarded and the remaining 50% when the participants begin their stay.
The corresponding withholding tax established in each country shall be applied to the €3,000.
The beneficiary undertakes to mention the support received from Fundació Miró Mallorca in all public dissemination and/or published disclosure of the created work or material.
In the event of non-compliance with the purpose of the grant, the beneficiary of the latter shall be obliged to return the money.

CREATION OF THE PROJECT
The specific dates for the beneficiaries of grants to carry out their project shall depend on the programme schedule of La Casa de Velázquez or the Slade School of Fine Art. Preferably it should be carried out within one year of notice of the grant.
Due to the said institutions’ internal programme schedules, the period when the project is carried out may vary, although this will always be agreed upon by both parties.
The beneficiary of the grant may ask for an extension of the time limit, although its acceptance will always depend on the pertinent institution’s programme schedule.
Within one month of the completion date of the stay, the grant holder must provide the Foundation with a comprehensive report of the project, together with a letter from the centre’s director or person in charge of assessing the work.
If any prints were made by the artist, the Foundation shall receive one copy of each and, if it deems the project to be of interest, it will look into its publication or further development.

Fundació Miró Mallorca reserves the right to exhibit, publish and publicise the produced work.

If the beneficiary is unable to take up the grant during the year following the date of its award for reasons that can be justified, it may be postponed for a maximum of one year.

In order to contribute to the exhibition, dissemination and promotion of the award-winning works in the different categories and to the dissemination of related information, all artists winning any of the Pilar Juncosa and Sotheby’s Awards and Grants at this edition must meet the following requirement:
At least one post relating to the awarded project must be uploaded by the artist onto the “Artistic ideology” page of Fundació Miró Mallorca’s website. A username and password will be given to each winner by the Foundation’s Communication and Marketing Department for this purpose.
