Radical Women is a rich and thought-provoking documentary film rooted in the landmark exhibition Radical Women: Latin American Art, 1960–1985, which took place between 2017 and 2018 and brought together over 120 Latin American visual artists whose groundbreaking work shaped the art of their time. Directed by Isabel De Luca and Isabel Nascimento Silva, the film translates this expansive exhibition into cinematic form by following unique conversations and interactions with eleven of the participating artists in New York and São Paulo.

Rather than merely documenting artworks, the documentary weaves together the personal experiences, voices, and embodied practices of these women, emphasizing the political body as a core element of artistic expression. It explores how their creative practices resisted oppressive regimes, challenged prevailing cultural norms, and opened new narratives in twentieth-century art history. With a fluid, collective structure, Radical Women reframes Latin American women’s art as a space of resistance, presence, and historical re-imagination.
