A recent retrospective at the Guggenheim Museum has reclaimed the figure of af Klimt, who for years was a creator forgotten by the patriarchal narrative and erased by the capitalist determination of the art market. The documentary delves into how her works transcended the conventions of the era, exploring concepts such as spirituality, geometry and universal energy, and shows how Hilma af Klimt anticipated artistic movements that would only be recognised decades later.

Through interviews with art historians, previously unseen archives and reconstructions of her creative process, the film offers a comprehensive look at Klimt’s artistic universe and her struggle to be recognised. It is a tribute to a woman who defied time, gender and the established norms of art, reclaiming her place as a pioneer of abstraction and artistic modernity.
