“IDILIA” – National preview at the Fundació Miró Mallorca
The Fundació is presenting the national preview of one of the most award-winning films in the history of the Balearic Islands
Cinema, art, music and the contemporary creative process come together in a day-long cultural event centred on IDILIA, which includes a session dedicated to applying AI to the film's storytelling.
The Fundació Miró Mallorca will host the pre-premiere of the film IDILIA on Saturday 21 February, a special screening that forms part of a daytime cultural event dedicated to cinema and the contemporary creative process. Directed by Javier Canales Sepúlveda and José Taltavull Sepúlveda, the film arrives in Mallorca after a distinguished run at national and international festivals, consolidating its position as one of the most awarded Balearic productions in recent years.

IDILIA, the debut feature film from its directors, features a star-studded cast led by Norma Ruiz, Andrew Tarbet, Raúl Prieto, Eva Isanta, Catalina Solivellas, Alfons Nieto and Borja Tous, among others. The film has been recognised with the awards for Best Feature Film and Best Director in the Official Section of MADRIFF (Madrid Indie Film Festival), and has also participated in the 15th edition of the Atlàntida Film Fest, the Bilbao Fantastic Film Festival (FANT) and the International Filmmaker Festival of New York (IFFNY), where it won the awards for Best Film (Beñat Belaza) and Best Actress (Norma Ruiz).
The preview at the Fundació Miró Mallorca is conceived as an expanded experience that goes beyond the screening of the film. The day includes a session dedicated to artificial intelligence applied to cinematic storytelling, where it will be shared how AI has intervened in the storytelling of IDILIA, bringing together technology, narrative and artistic creation. A unique opportunity to engage with the film from within and discover the new tools that are transforming contemporary cinema.
SYNOPSIS
In the not-too-distant future, an association called IDILIA is dedicated to recruiting children with high intellectual abilities. The purpose of this organisation is, supposedly, to offer alternatives for building a better future. Thirty years after the foundation’s arrival in Spain, Diana Leiva has become a prominent figure in this corporation after writing a manifesto that was instrumental in humanity legislating against the misuse of artificial intelligence. However, in recent years, she has decided to voluntarily isolate herself in one of IDILIA’s rooms.
PROGRAMME
