Miró, 1973: la indisciplina?

Lecture by Joan Maria Minguet Batllori
In 1974, Joan Miró was scheduled to hold a major exhibition at the Grand Palais in Paris. Instead of limiting himself to preparing a retrospective exhibition to validate his prestigious career, the artist worked on a series of experimental pieces or projects (including the burned canvases) that seemed to contradict the proverbial discipline he had always demonstrated. As if, at the age of 80, Joan Miró wanted to “murder painting” once again.
