Short biography of Teresa Moro

She studied at the Complutense University of Madrid and at the Chelsea School of Art and Design in London. Her latest solo exhibition, entitled Ropa de trabajo (Work Clothes), was on view at Siboney gallery, where she has worked since 2010. In 2022, the MARCO Museum in Vigo and the CEART in Fuenlabrada hosted solo exhibitions of her work: El Efecto Reliquia (The Relic Effect) and Estudio Enmarcado (Framed Study). Her work is featured in various museums and collections, including the CA2M in Móstoles, the CGAC Santiago de Compostela, the MoMA in New York and the MAC Conde Duque of the Madrid City Council.

Brief description of her personal project

Things, whether we have them in our private spaces or those we see outside of them, have always been the main and obsessive theme of my work. Lately, I’ve been carrying out my own personal revisiting of the Modern movement as a way of paying tribute to my masters and reclaiming creation as an extraordinary experience. Valuing its creators, and doing so through painting, has become, in my case, an act of resistance, an antidote to the frustration I feel when I realize the gradual standardization that consumer society is imposing on our habitats.
