The Board of Trustees of the Fundació Pilar i Joan Miró a Mallorca approves the lines of action and the budget for 2018. The meeting has been made this morning, with the next items to be debated:

  • Approval of the minutes of the ordinary session of June 2, 2017.
  • Approval of the Budget proposal for the year 2018.
  • Adoption of the Action Plan for the year 2018.
  • Approval of the modification of the Statutes of the Pilar and Joan Foundation in Mallorca.
  • Approval of the incorporation of the Pilar and Joan Miró Foundation to Mallorca as a patron of the Fundació Mas Miró de Mont-Roig del Camp.
  • Approval of the board of sessions of the Board of Trustees for 2018.
  • Appointment of the substitute of a member of the Government Commission of the Pilar and Joan Miró Foundation in Mallorca.
  • Give an account of the status of the new Foundation website.
  • Opening of words.

It is the first Board of Trustees presided over by the Mayor of Palma and the president of the Board of Trustees, Antoni Noguera, and the last of which has been the director of the Miró Foundation of Barcelona, ​​Rosa Mª Malet for 37 years.

THE 2018 BUDGET
The Foundation plans to work with a total budget of € 1,842,450 to cover the general expenses of the institution and to develop its program of activities that includes exhibitions, educational and family workshops, divulgative activities, graphic design workshops and the program Pilar Juncosa and Sotheby’s Prizes and Scholarships, among others.

ACTION PLAN FOR THE YEAR 2018
Emphasize that, among others, during 2018, a large-scale exhibition will be opened “Miró. A wild spirit” that will be inaugurated on February 9. This is the first time that a traveling exhibition abroad with funds from the Foundation returns home to fill their spaces. First, Korea and then Italy, have been the countries that have been able to enjoy this show.

Another action to be highlighted would be the plan of action and the works that will be carried out at the Sert Workshop. A unique space that will be reopened with new contents and a powerful and rigorous discourse that will transmit, more than ever, the spirit of space and the artist.

MODIFICATION OF THE STATUTES OF THE FOUNDATION
In order to accommodate the figure of the emérito pattern, its composition, designation and functions, it proposes the incorporation of a new article (15 bis) to the Statutes of the Pilar and Joan Miró Foundation in Mallorca:

Article 15 bis. Emeritus Board

1st Composition and designation

The advisory body of the Foundation is the Emeritus Board of Trustees. They are candidates for the status of emerit pattern:

a. The members who have turned 80 years of age,
b. The members who request it, regardless of their age.
c. Those people who, in the opinion of the Board of Trustees, have distinguished themselves by their special dedication or important services to the Foundation.

The Foundation Board of Trustees elects the Emeritus Board of Trustee members among the candidates that are included in the three previous points by simple majority of those present or represented.

INCORPORATION OF THE FOUNDATION AS A PATRON NAT OF THE MAS MIRÓ FOUNDATION OF MONT-ROIG DEL CAMP
The director of the Foundation, Francisco Copado, received on May 19 a letter from the President of the Mas Miró Foundation, Fran Morancho, informing him of the agreement taken last February, the Patronage of May 16, modifying his Statutes in order that the Pilar and Joan Miró Foundation in Mallorca can be incorporated as a Patron at the Mas Miró Foundation in Mont-roig del Camp.

To this letter, he also transferred, on behalf of the Fundació Mas Miró, the honor that it would be that the Pilar and Joan Miró Foundation accept the position and that the person representing the person be named.

REGISTRATION OF SESSIONS OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS FOR 2018
In relation to the calendar of the 2 sessions of the Board of Trustees foreseen in the Statutes to be held during 2018, it was approved for its celebration on the first Friday of June (June 1, 2017) and on the last Friday of the month November (November 30, 2018).

DESIGNATION OF THE SUBSTITUTE OF A MEMBER OF THE GOVERNING COMMITTEE
At the meeting of the Board of Trustees, the appointment of Dolors Juncosa Álvarez de Sotomayor was approved as a new member of the Government Commission replacing Nicolau Llaneras Manresa.

STATUS OF THE NEW FOUNDATION WEBSITE
The new website and corporate image of the Foundation will be announced next December 19 coinciding with the commemorative acts of the 25th anniversary of the public opening of the Foundation.

The new Web will undoubtedly be one of our main channels of communication and dissemination. That’s why it will be a dynamic, interactive, responsive, attractive and adapted Web site in the 21st century. It is equipped with a more modern look, and it becomes a “universal” letter of introduction. Likewise, it consists of a simple model and on the same graphic line of a brief newsletter, to be sent monthly with activities and featured content that are generated from the different departments of the FPJM, mainly from its new Department of Communication and Marketing.

In summary, the new Web will be a communication platform that will serve the content level for both visitors (practical information / environment / exhibitions / activities), as well as for journalists who want to find current information (news / outreach) and others curious / researchers We will move from static and difficult to read content to more current and attractive formats: short videos, informational caps, photos, network messages, online contests, etc.
