Pilar Juncosa & Sotheby’s Awards Ceremony 2019

On October 11th, in commemoration of the Pilar festivity and in honor to Pilar Juncosa, the event for the winners of the 2019 Awards and Grants took place: the delivery of their awards and their artistic recognition

PILAR JUNCOSA & SOTHEBY’S BIENNIAL AWARD FOR ARTISTIC CREATION

This year, the Fundació Pilar i Joan Miró a Mallorca wishes to promote art projects associated with Joan Miró’s Printmaking Workshops. These are located in an 18th-century country house called Son Boter, equipped by the artist himself for use as art studios and now considered to be one of the Fundació’s distinguishing features.

The award, worth a total of €20,000, shall be divided as follows: €6,000 as a prize for the artist and the rest for the creation and exhibition of the project.

PILAR JUNCOSA AWARD FOR AN EDUCATIONAL ART PROJECT

The Fundació Miró Mallorca offers a grant worth €4,000 for an educational art project.

This project must promote and encourage a greater interest in contemporary art among a specific sector of society (teachers, children, young people, the elderly, the handicapped, etc.) as well as being related to the Fundació’s documentary and artistic resources or to any other aspect of contemporary creation.

The Prize has been awarded to Fabiana Vinagre (São Paulo, 1990): Poéticas de la materia: un salto entre la pintura y la poesía.

 

 


TRAINING GRANTS TO TAKE PART IN COURSES AT JOAN MIRÓ’S PRINTMAKING STUDIOS

The Fundació Miró Mallorca offers two grants to artists interested in printmaking techniques and printed editions to enable them to take part in one of the courses organized by the Fundació Miró Mallorca each summer in Joan Miró’s printmaking studios.

Each grant consists of free enrolment on one of the courses/workshops held the following year and a gross amount of €1,000 to cover travel expenses, accommodation, etc.

The Prize has been awarded to Miguel Ezquerro: Nubes & Alba Urquía.


1 TRAINING GRANT FOR THE WINNERS OF THE YOUNG CREATORS’ PRINTMAKING AWARD

Since 1996, the Fundació Miró Mallorca has collaborated in the Certamen de Arte Gráfico para Jóvenes Creadores (Young Creators’ Printmaking Award), organized this year by the Calcografia Nacional of the Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando, the Real Casa de la Moneda and Fundación Azcona.

The Fundació offers a training grant to one of the winners of the Certamen de Arte Gráfico para Jóvenes Creadores (Young Creators’ Printmaking Award).

The Prize has been awarded to Omer Zaballa Larume (Bilbao, 1991).
