“The Magic Spark” awarded with an ADG Laus Award
The visual identity of the exhibition "The Magic Spark", created by Studio Roses, has been distinguished with an ADG Laus Award. This recognition highlights a graphic proposal that accompanies and amplifies the story of the exhibition, conceived to bring the public closer to the creative universe of Joan Miró from a unique perspective.
The award-winning graphic identity is born from this same approach. The project recovers the original stencil typography found in Miró’s studio, reinterpreted and redrawn by typographer Damià Rotger, and is built from a series of objects photographed by José Taltavull that form part of the artist’s personal imagination. The result is a contemporary visual language, evocative and coherent with the exhibition discourse. More than illustrating the idea of the “magic spark”, the graphic proposal seeks to activate it. Through visual communication, it awakens the visitor’s curiosity before entering the exhibition and encourages them to establish unexpected connections between the pieces, objects and ideas that make up Miró’s creative process.
This ADG Laus Award recognizes the excellence of a project that demonstrates how design can become a fundamental tool to enrich the cultural experience and strengthen the dialogue between the exhibition content and the public. The Fundació Miró Mallorca celebrates this award, which contributes to giving visibility to an exhibition that continues to invite visitors to discover the intimate mechanisms of artistic creation and to enter the inspiring universe of Joan Miró.
The ADG Laus Awards, created in 1964 by the ADG-FAD, have accumulated more than sixty years of experience and have become established as the benchmark recognition for graphic design and visual communication in Spain. In addition to rewarding creative excellence, they have contributed decisively to the professionalization of the sector and the cultural, social and economic projection of design.
