X Mallorca Saxophone Festival: more international and more concerts than ever before
The Festival arrives this year with 105 invited artists from 21 different nationalities and with a program consisting of 36 concerts, 14 conferences and 9 workshops. All activities are free.
The tenth edition of the Mallorca Saxophone Festival will take place between the 28th of February and the 28th of March 2018. This edition is until today the most international and the most extensive in terms of its duration as in the number of activities and musicians that participates. Once again, it aims to create a new and innovative platform, both artistic and pedagogical, aimed at a double recipient. On the one hand this activity is mainly aimed at young saxophonists aged between 14 and 25 years, but it is also open to the general public of the Balearic Islands and the city of Palma de Mallorca in particular.
The project is built with the idea of complementing and enriching the multiple pedagogical and artistic activities already proposed by the different existing pedagogical and artistic institutions, such as higher conservatories, professional conservatories and music schools of a band but also as a vehicle for cultural transmission and cultural values for the whole society.
