Open House Palma 2026

The sixth edition of Open House Palma arrives at the Fundació Miró Mallorca.

14 and 15 November 2026
Visits

The opportunity to discover one of the most valuable and unique architectural ensembles in Mallorca, and to visit the restoration works of Son Boter.

On November 14th and 15th, the Miró Mallorca Foundation is participating in the sixth edition of Open House Palma, the architecture festival that invites you to discover emblematic spaces of the city and approach the architectural heritage from a new perspective.

This year, in addition to visiting the Sert Workshop and the Moneo Building, visitors will have the exceptional opportunity to get to know the restoration works of Son Boter, Joan Miró’s second creative studio in Mallorca, up close.

Open House Palma

Open House Palmais a non-profit, charitable initiative whose main objective is to promote and disseminate the architectural heritage of Palma among the public, understood as a key element of our culture.

It is a diverse and multidisciplinary event where everyone is welcome. Open House Palma’s spirit is to open the city, its architecture, and its heritage to all residents, social stakeholders, technicians, and professionals; engaging local associations and groups across the board, strengthening the social fabric by seeking citizen participation and promoting engagement and dialogue across different social strata, ages, and professional profiles.

Which spaces can be visited at the Foundation?

Sert Wokshop

@Juan Gavilán

Built in 1956, the Taller Sert is the studio that architect Josep Lluís Sert, a friend of Joan Miró, designed for the artist. Declared a Site of Cultural Interest (BIC), it is a fundamental space for understanding the relationship between Miró, architecture and the creative process.

Moneo Building

@Juan Gavilán

Inaugurated in 1992, it is the headquarters of the Miró Mallorca Foundation and was designed by architect Rafael Moneo. The building establishes a dialogue between contemporary architecture, the landscape and Miró’s artistic legacy.

Son Boter: an opportunity to discover its restoration

Son Boter, Joan Miró’s second creative studio in Mallorca, is reaching the final stretch of a comprehensive restoration process whose main objective is to preserve the graffiti that the artist left on the walls of the building.

The works have allowed the structure to be consolidated, the roofs to be repaired and the facades to be restored, while at all times prioritizing the conservation of the original elements. This is a particularly delicate intervention, aimed at stopping the deterioration of the graffiti and ensuring its preservation for the future.

As part of Open House Palma 2026, visitors will have the opportunity to tour the works by the hand of architect Joan Fortuny and discover up close the recovery process of this exceptional space, where the walls preserve direct traces of Miró’s artistic practice.

A unique opportunity to learn about the challenges of heritage conservation and get closer to one of the most intimate and significant spaces in the artist’s creative universe.

Check the opening hours and conditions for visits to Son Boter at openhousepalma.org.
